Why generalize things? You can quote gazillion examples of non-MBA entrepreneurs(some of whom who weren’t even educated) to put your point across.

(some) IIM students are snobbish, I agree. It is a side effect of having been in the 99.99th percentile of 2.5+ lakh odd students. But then, their snobbish behavior isn’t related to their intelligence in any which way.

Some of them are intelligent. Some might not be. Some of them change the world. Others end up as your employees. I don’t see a relation.

Every hardworking intelligent man isn’t successful, but most(or rather every) IIM(or good MBA) graduates are hardworking.

Students get into the IIM because for most of them it is the next best thing. Not everybody dreams of changing the world, not everybody takes the road less traveled. You took it, you were lucky, you are successful. Why condemn those who didn’t and chose IIMs?

Grow out of this ‘I am an entrepreneur without an MBA degree’ thinking. Some people are born entrepreneurs, some have to learn it – and IIMs are a very good place for doing that – may be not the ideal place – but a very good place.

Education never did anyone any harm. Will you hire an accountant without a degree? Didn’t you kick out 20 other people because they weren’t good or they weren’t from a college as good as IIM. Grooming matters- just like the family you are born in – for most people. IIMs(and most good Bschools) groom their students well. What’s the harm in studying hard to get this privilege?

Nerds aren’t losers. Grow out this 90s fad.This is the same jingoism with which Americans say “1000 Indians call me boss”. Avoid it, please.

There are some people who go with the flow, some who go against it. Both can coexist. Peacefully. Why must we interfere?

I understand that you want to give hope to the other side of the 99.99%ile who don’t make it to the IIMs. But you can choose better examples and words? I think you can.

I mean, you can party hard, have sex, smoke truckloads of cigarettes, disappear on weekends and reappear on Mondays – you can do all that and get into the IIMs.

CAT is just another exam. Routine. Can be cracked. Like all MBA exams – XAT, FMS – cracked without rubbing your ass off on a ball point pen.

After you get out of the IIMs, you might have to work like a male honeybee but the perks more than make up for it.

To each his own, ofcourse. But the point that you fail to see is that they are questioning – Dare to think beyond the IIMs – and not the existence of IIPM in general.

There are institutes for lesser mortals like you(and maybe even me) but these institutes don’t claim to – “think beyond the IIMs.”

This line of promotion is bullcrap. There are several institutes in India who give a tough fight to IIMs and IITs. XLRI for example.
But they don’t come up with taglines like ‘Dare to think beyond the IIMs’, even though if they did, no one would have objected.

If your marketing campaign is based on a flimsy claim, and you scream those lines 24 hours a day, you have to be a douchebag.

You don’t realize but a lot of good students might fall under their trap and pay monstrous fees only to suffer later. They could have gone for regional MBA colleges(which are meant for lesser mortals) but they chose IIPM based on their ‘fake’ ranking reports.

The CAT isn’t the toughest exam of the Universe. Grow out of that state of mind. You don’t have to give up on your leisure at all.

You don’t even understand what living in the moment means. For a guy studying for CAT, living in the moment can very well mean, finding the answer to a problem he has been stuck on for a week.

Even that can be almost orgasmic. Not your definition of ‘living in the moment’ but then, your definition isn’t everyones’ definition is it? To each his own eh?

Also, tell your good friend, Complacency doesn’t always mean happiness or success.

Peace of mind that emanates from inaction must not be compared to Peace of mind that comes from action. Don’t make it a propaganda, don’t generalize something whose other half you haven’t experienced.
