Google Buzz wait keeps internet savvy dude awake all night

Bengaluru. Sarfaraz Tabwala, a 23-year-old IT professional, couldn’t sleep all night as he waited for Google Buzz tab to appear in his Gmail account. For over seven hours, Sarfaraz continuously kept looking at the glowing laptop screen and occasionally tapping on the keyboard, after which he suddenly realized that it was 5 AM in the morning and he had to report to his office within four hours.

“Many of my friends had G-Talk status messages such as Not available – I’m BUZZy, YES I AM BUZZING, or simply BUZZ!!!, which made me restless and even jealous to an extent.” Sarfaraz confessed and conceded that he had logged out and logged in into his Gmail account at least 150 times in hope of Buzz tab appearing. He gave up at around 5 AM.

Sarfaraz has BSNL Home 500C plan, and has free internet usage from 2 AM to 8 AM, but he denied this as being the possible factor for keeping him awake. He pointed out that even yesterday he had slept around 3 AM, only after his tweet count went over by 200 with a parallel growth in orkut scrap count.

“Yesterday I was completely clueless when I went to bed. I realized that I had actually done nothing and yet I was up so late. Even in my dreams, I saw myself surfing internet. I was a bit scared. But today I had a reason. I believe Google Buzz would be fun.” said Sarfaraz, who is popularly referred as Surf-raaj (the king of surfing) by his friends.

Friends fear that Sarfaraz would start spending even more time on internet after Google Buzz, as he has already been sharing lots of stuff on twitter and facebook.

“I’ve no idea why Google is introducing such features. Why can’t they let my Gmail page be as clean and uncluttered as their homepage? I dread what would happen when Sarfaraz finally gets that Google Buzz tab. I am afraid, I might have to block my good friend.” Deepak Naik, a friend of Sarfaraz said on conditions of anonymity, but we decided to Buzz about it.
