He returned after three minutes, his shortest phone conversation ever with his girlfriend, and was shocked to realize that he had missed Anil Kapoor’s role as a result. He couldn’t believe this horror.
Man divorces his wife of ten years because she didn’t nag him at all
Nov. 30 |In a landmark judgment, a Mumbai family court has granted divorce to a man, who wanted to separate from his wife on the grounds that she didn’t nag him even once during their married tenure of ten years. The court has upheld the argument by the bewildered husband that a no-nagging wife was not a natural phenomenon and could be counter conducive to happy married life.
Producer under fire for giving scriptwriter a fee as high as heroine’s wardrobe budget
Sep. 12 |A Bollywood film producer is facing strong criticism for offering a scriptwriter an amount of fee, which is as high as the budget earmarked for the wardrobe expenses of the film’s heroine. The step is being seen as a “game changer” that could queer the pitch of filmmaking for existing and future filmmakers, and thus is being opposed by most of the producers in the industry.
Dev Anand claims Lagaan was remake of Awwal Number, plans to release it in B&W
Feb. 24 |While watching the Pakistan vs. Kenya match last night, the evergreen Dev Anand suddenly realized that his 1990 movie “Awwal Number” starring Aamir Khan and himself was remade into “Lagaan” by Aamir without any due credits. At the hastily called press conference in the middle of the night, the immaculately dressed Dev Saab addressed the media in his own customary style.
Ra.One adjudged Best Film in Filmfare awards for unreleased movies
Feb. 1 |To make Bollywood awards as “transparent” and “genuine” as possible, Filmfare, the leading award presenter, has decided to institute an award for the “unreleased” movies. The inaugural awards were swept by Shah Rukh Khan for his upcoming movies Ra.One and Don-2. While Filmfare claims the award is to reward hard work shown in filming, critics have called it no better than the present set of awards.
