Bengaluru: Though HR team is fully ‘tired’ after working non-stop for last 4 weeks without taking a break due to ongoing appraisal season, they have called an emergency meeting to find out the meeting minutes of last one-year meetings.
The decision to look for old meeting minutes was taken by Natasha Singh, head of HR at PCS technologies. Natasha overheard the conversation some employees were having in the cafeteria. When one employee was asking his colleague to escalate a certain matter to HR, the employee said, “Kya fayada, aaj tak HR ne kabhi koi action item liya hai apne upar. Agar mistake se liya hai, toh kabhi usko close kiya hai”.
“Though I was upset with the comment, but soon I realized that’s true. We as a team never took any action item in our name. That’s the reason I asked my team, go back and find old meeting minutes and then look for any action item against our name”, said Natasha while speaking to us.
Natasha added, “Have asked my team members to take ownership of five action items each. If they do not get in last one year, go back for last five years and complete those before this year Ganesh Puja. Kyonki uske baat toh agle new year tak koi office mein dikhega hi nahin”.
Commenting on one of his closed action item, engineer Varun Sharma said, “I asked for a java training session when I joined as a fresher here as I was assigned a Java project. Now after five years they have arranged one trainer for me and forcing me to undergo the training. Arre bhai abhi toh mein big data mein kaam kar raha hoon. Mujhe help iss pe chahiye. Like this if HR team is going to force me on doing something not needed now, I will give them one final action item, i.e. to take exit interview for me”.
