Bhopal: Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, was ridiculed on social media last year for saying after a visit to the US that roads in his state are much better. Unfazed by the jeers, Mr Chouhan repeated his assessment at a public meeting on Wednesday. Shivraj has been pretty vocal about MP’s progress under his regime for the last 14 years. He is sure that roads in MP are comparable if not better than the roads in the US. Though people in MP refuse to accept the applause or in this case the self-applause. But people outside MP are definitely impressed. TCS which has a habit of opening offices in every empty plot available on the globe now counts Bhopal as an onsite destination.
TCs has an office in all the continents spread out in diverse countries and that is what attracts the employees, yes, the opportunity to work onsite and earn more. The first time when Shivraj made the comments about MP roads, TCS didn’t take it seriously as all BJP leaders nowadays are in self-praise mode. But when he repeated the claims yesterday, it rung bells in the higher authority heads at the largest Software giant of India. It is a famous saying that if you throw a stone in Bengaluru 50% chances are that it will hit a TCS employee, such is their population nowadays. But Bengaluru being extra crowded, TCS sends its employees to onsite opportunities whenever possible. And from now onwards Bhopal will also be counted as an onsite opportunity.
Just as the inclusion of Bhopal in onsite destinations spread among the official circles, people have stopped applying for the onsite opportunity and are content to stay put in any location in India except Bhopal.
