Indore residents hold Poha eating competition to decide their MLAs

19, Nov 2018 By Sandeep Kadian

Indore: Formal voting in Indore for the assembly elections is going to take place on 28th of November but MLAs of Indore 1 to Indore 5 will be decided a week before that.

A Poha eating competition has been scheduled for 21st of this month where all the competitors will be trying to eat as much poha as they can, last men standing will be declared the 5 MLAs from Indore and everyone will vote for them on the polling day.

Election commission has declared this type of activity to decide MLAs illegal but the election commission representatives were assaulted with Poha bombs when they tried to reach the place of the event to try and stop the preparations.

Speaking to Faking News, one of the organisers of the event said, “We want to make sure that our MLAs truly represent Indore. If they can’t eat Poha then what kind of Indoris will they be? As it is, outsiders have become a major issue in Indian politics these days and we don’t want that to happen in Indore. We want to make sure only true Indoris get to represent us in the assembly.”

Explaining the rules, he said, “We will start at 7 AM and then every half hour they will get a new plate of Poha. After every hour, they will get a plate of Jalebi. Water break will be scheduled every 6 hours and loo break every 12 hours. We are starting a week before the polling day so we should have a winner by then but if the deadlock is not broken by 28th, we will ask Election Commission to reschedule the date till we get our Poha champion. Whoever is the last man standing, will get 100% of the votes from us.”

Meanwhile, in an election speech in Indore earlier today, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath promised to rename Indore as Pohapur if BJP is voted to power in the state.
