In every phase of voting, actors and celebrities have encouraged people to go out and exercise their franchise. Bollywood star Farhan Akhtar today went a step further, asking the “electorate of Bhopal” to not vote for the BJP candidate, Pragya Singh Thakur, who sparked a row by praising Mahatma Gandhi’s assassin Nathuram Godse.
The actor’s appeal, however, is a few days late, as was pointed out by several Twitter users. Bhopal had already voted in the sixth phase on May 12.
But his ability to respond to news after 7 days has caught the eye of HR team working at Doordarshan. Doordarshan reporters are known to cover a news piece after 7-8 days of the happening and sometimes not even bothering to cover it. However, it is unlikely that Farhan would accept the job offer as he is doing pretty well in Bollywood.
The Doordarshan team says that their process of on boarding a new recruit takes 2 years so even after Farhan accepts the job it will take 2 years to give him a role and also his I-card.
