New Delhi: The Congress on Thursday said the current atmosphere is not conducive for a dialogue with Pakistan and termed the suggestions made in this regard by its leader and Punjab minister Navjot Singh Sidhu as his personal opinion and not that of the party. BJP has been using Sidhu’s visit to Pakistan some months back to embarrass the opposition of which Congress has finally taken note.
After Navjot Singh Sidhu responded to the Pulwama Attack, saying that the whole nation cannot be held responsible for a terror attack and that terrorism has no caste or religion. Deeming this as insensitive, the comments drew flak from Twitterati, and was taken is such a bad light, that event CINTAA had asked for a ban on Sidhu from the Kapil Sharma Show. But that has not stopped him from tweeting or having his say on matters related to Pakistan. Congress party knows that this is an election season and anything they say or their leaders put out in media can be held against them by the ruling party.
So the Congress working committee has decided that they will produce the sho and keep Sidhu in the show full time so that he doesn’t get time to tweet or give press releases. It is to be seen though that will the other star cast of the show will be retained or not. Sidhu has already started practicing his one-liners and has promised that he will work doubly hard to match the standards set by the show.
