‘It was my driver in the movie, not me,’ says Salman Khan after Tubelight fails to impress audiences

After Salman Khan’s recent release Tubelight received unimpressive reviews from popular movie critics, he has claimed that it is his driver, not him, who has acted in the movie. His driver, however, did not accept Salman Khan’s claims this time and left the job after the accusation. Our reporter spoke to the driver, who expressed his anger, “I can put my life at stake for him but how can he say that it was me who chose to work in a movie like Tubelight?”

According to trade analysts, the box office collections of the movie are also not as impressive as his previous movies, and this sorry state of Tubelight has embarrassed Salman Khan very much. A source close to him said, “Bhai makes movies for his fans. Bhai doesn’t care about reviews; if you watch his previous films, you will realise that he never did. But the numbers this time are very ordinary — so ordinary that Bhai himself can count the money his movie has earned so far.”

Actor and close friend Shah Rukh Khan, who did a cameo in Tubelight, was disappointed with the kind of response the film garnered. Unhappy with Salman Khan’s choice of movies, he said, “I will end my friendship with Salman after Baba Siddiqui’s Iftar party so that I do not have to hug him in the party and be friends again.”

Initially, Salman refused to accept that it was him, not his driver, who acted in the movie. However, the heartbroken actor later confessed the truth in a press conference that he addressed. “I accept that the collections at the box office on the first two days after the release are quite feeble. The film has got a slow start, but it will gain mileage, like my SUV,” he assured.
