Due to the habit of copying things, I just copied the act of sexual harassment from other celebrities: Anu Malik pleads innocent

Mumbai: As #MeToo allegations pile up against Anu Malik, another singer has come forward to call him out for his alleged sexual misconduct. Singer Alisha Chinai, who recorded several hit songs with Malik during the 1990s, has claimed that every word said and written about the Bollywood music-composer is “true”. Chinai has also said that she stands by all the women who have spoken up against Malik.

Recently, singer Shweta Pandit accused Malik of sexually harassing her when she was 15. In a long Twitter post, Pandit recounted her ordeal and called Malik a “pedophile”. She also thanked singer Sona Mohapatra for calling him out and urged others who have been exploited.

Now its Anu Malik’s turn of defending himself.

Anu Malik spoke to Faking News reporter and said,” Look, I had a bad habit of copying things. All my music tunes are copied. I was so engrossed in copying things and giving to people that I also copied the act of sexual harassments from other celebrities and well known people. I am a very decent man and have always respected females. You can listen to my voice also, I try to pay tribute to all women by singing like them. So I should be given the benefit of doubt as mine was a mistake rather than an intended behavior.”
