Ed Sheeran to sing Hindi songs in Mumbai concert after fans walk out of AR Rahman’s Wembley show

Popular singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has decided that he will only sing Bollywood masala songs in his Mumbai concert which is scheduled in November this year.

The artist took this decision after discovering that composer-singer AR Rahman was heavily criticised and the crowds left midway in his Wembley concert when he sang a few songs in Tamil.

Confirming the news, Ed told us, “You heard it right — I will be singing Hindi songs on my tour to India.” Although he did not disclose his full playlist, he dropped a subtle hint, “My song ‘Photograph’ is in English. But, I’ve found its perfect replacement in the highly popular Hindi song ‘Selfie Maine Le Li Aaj’ which I’ll be humming on the big day to woo the crowds.” The artist also confirmed that he will kick-start the concert by singing Jana Gana Mana so that no Indian gets offended.

Realising that Ed will perform in Mumbai, a place where political parties like the Shiv Sena and the MNS operate, the event organisers are having a difficult time planning it out.

Speaking to our reporters, the head of the event organising committee told us, “Since the Shiv Sena and MNS can anytime feel offended and vandalise our setup, we have made specific arrangements to ensure that people hailing from UP and Bihar do not attend the show. We guarantee that every person present in the stadium will be a Marathi manus.” In addition to this, our reporters also found out that Ed will be singing the popular Marathi number ‘Zingat’ to impress fans so that they do not walk out of the concert.

Our secret sources have discovered that Ed will not perform his most popular number ‘Shape of You’ on Indian soil as it is highly against the Indian culture of intolerance and is likely to offend sanskari people like Pahlaj Nihalani.
