New Delhi: On Tuesday, Government took a major decision to bring more people under Aadhar registration. Government is making Aadhar mandatory for a person to see the famous American fantasy drama television series, Games Of Thrones telecast.
In a press conference, Ministry of Information Technology, Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad announced that people not having Aadhar will not be able watch the 7th episode of Game of Thrones of current season. Government has said that the only thing increasing faster than the population of the country is GoT fanbase, hence we are taking this step to bring maximum people under Aadhar purview.
GoT telecast will be the 47th item to be linked with Aadhar. Linking GoT telecast with Aadhar will help government know how many people watch it on the release day itself and since the episodes release on Monday morning same data will be used to find out the unemployment index. If sources are to be believed, after GoT the government is likely to link Facebook account with Aadhar.
Faking News reporter spoke to one of the GoT Fans, Prashant Sharma. Prashant said, “I don’t understand government’s obsession with aadhar, as if pancard, voter id, passport and phone numbers were not enough that government is not targeting GoT. If we don’t stop them here tomorrow they’ll link our dreams with Aadhar and that would be very embarrassing for many of us.
While majority of people have a problem with government linking GoT with Aadhar, a few have suggested government to link India’s longest running sitcom serial, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah too. If government keeps linking everything that gathers audience with Aadhar, soon Faking News too will get linked with Aadhar.
