The most-awaited singing reality show, Indian Idol 10 started with a bang on Sony TV on Saturday (July 7, 2018). The show is hosted by Manish Paul, and judged by the terrific trio – Vishal Dadlani, Anu Malik and Neha Kakkar. The theme of the show is ‘Mausam Music Ka’. Overall, the show seemed to be a successful one, only that many thought the show had a lot of sad elements and were confused whether it is a singing competition show or a “sad life story” competition. But they went overboard when the judges selected a singer who was not able to come for auditions as he didn’t have money and rejecting singers who sang in front of them.

Shwetank Srivastava is the talented singer we are talking about. Shwetank always had this dream of participating in Indian Idol and becoming the voice of India, but lack of money, money to even travel to the sets for auditions was hampering his pursuit of the dream. But Monday was a big surprise when he learnt that he has cleared the audition round without even singing. On Sunday when his name was called in front of the judges as part of auditions, someone said that he has not come as he didn’t have money to travel. This made the judges very emotional. After an hour long discussion among themselves, Vishal, Neha and Anu Malik decided to select Shwetank from that day’s audition list to go through to the next round. This was done after hearing about 20 singers sing that day, some of whom were extremely talented. But then, they were not poor!

SOny TV has asusred Shwetank that he will be provided financial assistance to reach the 2nd round which will the main competition for ‘Indian Idol’
