After much of disruptions, the Rajya Sabha was finally able to garner majority votes in the favor of much controversial ‘Triple Talaaq Bill’ aka ‘The Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Bill, 2019 in the higher strata of the society.

Though the move is welcomed by the likes of Shah Bano, there is fear among the male section of the community who are at the receiving end of the awaited Act.

Raja Kumar (name and religion changed) was the first one to leave a Hindi show ‘Kahani Har Bhasad Ki’.

He said, “I signed the show to get a break in the industry. Initial episodes were sensible but the series started losing its plot at speed faster than the Congress is losing its seats. I performed a romantic scene yesterday. And to give 360˚ twist on the lines of drama in Karnataka Assembly, I was told to get engaged in a fight scene with my wife. We married a day ago.”

“I was even told that I have said the T-word consecutively for three times. On knowing that it can have serious repercussions on my civil rights, I restrained speaking it and agreed to speak the word only once during the scene. Then the producer showed her calm and said they will take help of video editing to make repetitive loops of that word to make it appear to be natural” added Raja and immediately made up his mind to leave the show.

When asked whether this dialogue wasn’t mentioned in the script which he read at the time of signing, he said, “There’s no such thing in Hindi TV serials, ab apun ko naya dharam mangta,” and left the place.
