Reacting to rumors on Ambati Rayudu and Zaira Wasim being part of Karan Johar’s next project, the movie-maker clarified that he had no plans to cast them in a movie.
Zaira Wasim who had expressed her desire to quit Bollywood and Ambati Rayudu who quit international cricket were rumored to be favorites to act in Karan’s next installment of Student of the Year.
The rumor first originated on social media thorough some handles that were allegedly discussing the possibility of Zaira and Ambati being cast in a movie. The twitter handle of Dharma productions was also tagged in the tweet, which could have led to the rumor of Karan Johar could helm the project.
Speaking to Faking News Karan Johar said, “Let me just put it put there that the news is false. You now my criteria is ‘star-kid’ for casting anyone in my movie. Neither Zaira not Rayudu fulfills my criteria. Whoever came up with this news must have a really wild imagination. Probably a writer for those saas-bahu serials that you see on TV.”
“And why would I cast Ambati Rayudu anyway, Uska career toh waise hi khatam ho gaya even without appearing on Koffee with Karan,” he added.
Speaking on the Zaira Wasim controversy, Karan expressed his disappointment at the actress quitting Bollywood. He also said that at one point he did think of relaxing his star-kid criteria for her.
However, Ambati Rayudu couldn’t elicit any criteria relaxation from Karan. “I don’t think I will ever cast any cricketer in my movie. Or maybe I will if Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul agree to do a Dostana sequel,” he chuckled.
