Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much-delayed period drama, which finally hit the screens on January 25, is unstoppable at the box office. Padmaavat starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh is casting its magic at the ticket windows with each passing day. At most of the big cities the movie is running to packed houses without any attacks from the Karni Sena.
But the multiplex owners will still lose out on lot of money. There were many people who had booked tickets for themselves as well as their bodyguards around them. In the aftermath of no attack, such people are asking for the refund for the bodyguards. The theatre owners are in a spot of bother now and don’t know how to respond to such demands. Some are also praying that Karni Sena should attack their premises so that such requests won’t come to them. The movie goers are pretty sure that there would be an attack from the Karni Sena at the multiplex where they are going for the movie show. And in that assumption they are booking tickets for their bodyguards, sometimes 8-10 in numbers. In fact in many shows the screens are full of body guards and it is difficult to make out who are part of the multiplex security staff and who are the personal bodyguards.
Multiplex owners might have to stop the screening of the movie if there are no attacks by the Karni Sena, as giving refund to all requested audience would empty their coffers as they have already paid the producers in advance for the screening of the movie. The demand for bodyguards is so high that some startups have come up who provide you the requested number of bodyguard as and when required.
