PM Modi on Saturday inaugurated a Cinema Museum in Mumbai and bollywood movie Thugs of Hindostan got the distinction of being the first movie to be inducted in the museum.
Actor Aamir Khan who was present at the event looked visibly pleased at the honor and said, “With the movie in the museum at least now people will stop making fun on the movie. Jab se release hui hai log taane maar rahe hai ki movie kitni badi flop hai. Hopefully now all that will .”
PM Modi too commented while speaking to an assembly of Bollywood stars and said, “Desh aur samaj ke hit mein iss movie ko museum mein rakhna zaroori tha.”
While showering praises on actor Aamir Khan, he said, “Aaj tak China sabko nakli maal bechta tha. Lekin wahan Thugs of Hindustan release karke Aamir pehle aise actor bane jinhone Cheeniyon ko nakli maal becha hai.”
Other than earning figures of the movie, all other things related to the movie will be on display at the museum.
A decision on screening of the movie is still pending though, after museum workers strongly opposed this idea.
Bollywood fans heaved a collective sigh of relief was this news was reported in the media. Many were happy that the movie would not be available anywhere other than the museum
“This is a great first step. I feel there are many more movies that deserve to be in the museum. Hopefully they too will share space with ToH,” remarked a fan.
Sources say that in future Race3 and Zero could as well be part of the line up.
While speaking to our reporter the museum curator revealed that not just movies but TV shows too could find a space in the display list. “Currently we are in talks to have the Pandya-Rahul episode of Koffe with Karan in our Hall-of-Fame section,” he said.
