Mumbai: With elections on the horizon, political alliances being formed all over the country is nothing new but now we have official alliances in film industry too. Shahrukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan have formed an alliance ahead of the release of their films this coming week. Individual tickets for Raees and Kaabil will not be available and fans will have to buy a combo pack of both tickets if they want to watch any of the films.
Ahead of the release date, there was a lot of speculation over the business loss each film will suffer due to the other but now all the speculation has ended. In fact, now people are wondering how much additional business they will do thanks to this newly formed alliance. There have been unofficial alliances in the past where one film’s release was delayed to avoid box office clash but this is the first such official alliance.
Commenting on this unique alliance, a trade analyst said, “This move makes total sense, I don’t know why nobody thought of this earlier. Now all SRK fans will also watch Kaabil and all Hrithik fans will also watch Raees. The business will be unprecedented and Dangal’s box office record will be shattered within a month. This is an ingenious idea.”
When we mentioned that people are also being forced to buy tickets for a film they may not want to watch, he said, “You never raise such objections during political alliances, why do it now? When politician parties with different ideologies and support base can come together then why can’t film actors with different fan base?”
After forming this alliance, producers of Raees and Kaabil are also planning to give 25% cash back for online ticket booking to attract supporters of cashless economy as well.
