Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much awaited movie finally gets a release date amidst protests and call for banning the movie.
However unlike the usual two and half hour movie format, Padmavati will be released as Power Point Presentation across the country.
The director has also decided to retain the ‘i’ in the movie title. Speaking to Faking News, a source close to the movie maker said, “The movie has been in controversy since day 1 of shoot. With protests and states asking for ban, Mr. Bhansali has had enough and wants to release the movie somehow. Even if it means deviating from the traditional movie format.”
“Those who are protesting against the movie are not happy with what they’d get to see on the screen. So we thought of replacing video with text and images. In case protesters have any problem with the content. We can edit the text easily,” said the source.
A 30 slide PPT has been sent to the censor board and is expected to get a U/A certificate without any slide being deleted.
Many who were eagerly waiting for the movie to be released are now happy that they’d finally get to see something even though it isn’t in a traditional movie format. On the other protesting members of Karni Sena are not happy with the latest development. Apparently, the sena had recruited additional manpower to intensify the protest. But with a ppt being released, Karni Sena will have to go back to their drawing board and think about what they will do with the extra set of protesters.
There were also reports that a file named Padmavati.pptx was being shared on torrent sites, but producers of the movie refuted the report. “Protest ke chakkar mein itne logon ko movie dikha chuke hai ki shayad hi kisi ko pirated version dekhne ki zaroorat padegi,” said a producer.
