To rival Cannes, KRK to launch Cants to celebrate movie industry flops

26, May 2016 By Ajayendar Reddy

Mumbai: Fed up by the attention being given to Cannes film festival which ignores his talent year after year, superstar actor, writer, producer, director, critic, celebrity, entrepreneur, motivational speaker, youtube star and 2 Rs. star, Kamaal R Khan has decided to take the matter into his own hands and start his own film festival – The Cants International film festival.

Yes you Can’t!

When asked if it will also be pronounced with silent S like in Cannes, KRK said that he is very flexible and one can call it whatever they want, even C*nts with a “u” if you must. He further added, “Cannes is 2 rupees movie festival. Surviving the industry without any talent is a talent in itself. I am just happy to provide a platform to recognize the true talents of movie industry worldwide. This will soon be more famous than the Cannes and even the Oscars.”

The announcement by KRK has been received very warmly by the Hindi film industry. Leading directors like Sajid Khan, Shirish Kunder, Prabhu Deva and Ram Gopal Verma have already sent their movies to KRK for review. Once selected, their legendary works will be shown at Cants.

Meanwhile, a beaming Abhishek Bachchan said, “Every year Aish will boast about her visits to Cannes while I sit at home twiddling my thumbs. Now even I will have a film festival to go to. I am sure KRK will recognize my talent and invite me every year.”

Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor who, as the face of some brand or the other, ends up every year at the Cannes wearing designer curtains and carpets was overjoyed at hearing about the Cants festival. “This is wonderful. Finally, a movie festival will recognize me for my talent as an actor and not objectify me for my looks,” she said.

The first Cants will be held later this year and KRK is confident of its huge success. “Kiss to Cants, Kick to 2 Rs. Cannes”, KRK tweeted after making the announcement.
