Mumbai: Race 3’s ‘spectacular’ debut in IMDB’s lowest rated movies list has made Sajid Khan nervous. Sajid and his team feels 1.8 rating (IMDB ratings are on a scale of 10) Humshakals is holding on for more than four years is in real danger.
We talked to Wasim Khan who has worked with Sajid Khan before. He said, “Sajid sir was ok when Race 3 debuted with 2.7 rating today morning which was on the expected lines. Within half a day it came down to 2.5. Then we all became nervous, who knows where it will be within a week’s time. It’s a free fall. Unlike stock exchanges, IMDB does not cap how much a movie rating can fall on a given day”.
“That’s when we decided to re-release the Humshakals. We want today’s movie buffs to see the movie once more, experience what a movie it was and then rate”, said Wasim Khan who has assistant director of Humshakals.
Wasim Khan feels Bhai fans are deliberately giving Race 3 ultra-low ratings to challenge a movie like Humshakals. He said, “I have seen Race 3, it is not such a bad movie, otherwise how it would have made 270 crores worldwide. These so-called Bhai’s fans want to take credit away from Sajid sir who worked tirelessly to make Humshakals like the way it has turned out. He not only directed, he wrote the script, screenplay, dialogues so that no one can save it going below 2 rating”.
When we asked Wasim, there are talks going on to have Race 4 with Salman in the lead with a target to make it first ever 0.5 rated movie, he said, “I’m not worried about Race 4. Never forget Sajid Bhai is also working on Housefull 4 which is on pre-production stage. Being the ‘best’ he is, no one can touch him as long as he makes movies. I’m just praying to God, Humshakals holds on to its tag of lowest ever rated movie till next one from Sajid Sir comes along”.
