As Yes bank finds itself in dire straits, its founder and ex-CEO is now looking at a career change.
Rana Kapoor, a bank veteran, is looking to enter Bollywood. Sources say that the Yes Bank founder is hoping to cash in on his Kapoor surname and make it big in the movie industry.
Speaking to Faking News, he said, “I know it is too late to make an entry into Bollywood. Age may not be on my side, but Karan Johar surely is. Maybe they can make a movie on my banking career itself. It will make a thrilling watch for sure.”
“I may not be a star-kid. But I have what it takes to impress Karan. And that is the ‘Kapoor’ last name,” he added.
Actor Arjun Kapoor welcomed the entry of another Kapoor into the movie industry. “Honestly I feel it was a wrong career move on the part of Mr. Rana. He should have entered Bollywood instead on banking. I agree that it would have been a little struggle for him back then as Karan Johar was not around. But he would have eventually learnt the ropes,” he remarked.
Responding to the news, Karan Johar said, “I have never heard of Rana Kapoor. If this is Rana Dagubatti changing his last name to Kapoor just to land a role with Dharma Productions, then that will not work with me. Last year I almost cast a star-kid who claimed to be close to the Khans. Later I found out that it was some Yadav guy from Bihar. Wont be fooled this time around.”
