In what could possibly be a solution to the chest pains and high blood pressures of high profile visitors immediately after being sent to the jail, the Ministry of Home Affairs has planned to install Intensive Cardiac Care cells in the premises of the central Jail in all the states. This 10 * 15 feet cells would not only host the basic amenities needed for an inmate but also have ultra sophisticated instruments for treating anything in-between a mild head ache to a cardiac arrest.
Identifying past trends where politicians, bureaucrats and other HNIs had to be transferred to big hospitals only hours after being sent to the jail, the prison authorities decided to set-up cardiac units right inside the prison. "This would save us the expenses incurred in arranging frequent visits to the hospital for our high profile inmates", explained, Addl. I.G. (Prisons) S. P Gupta (not the Gujarat one) in a press interview at Delhi. Adding further to it, he added, "Two senior Medical Officers and three para-medics would be posted along with the Resident Medical Officer in order to handle any medical urgency".
On being questioned about this strange sickness that prehends our leaders exactly after they are brought under scanner, the Chief Medical Officer (P) replied, "No, I won't call this claustrophobia or any kind of environmental sickness. This could be a primary symptom of, what I term as, scam sickness. Most of the patients complain of acute pain in the left side of their chest. The pain however switches to the right side of the chest when they are informed of the heart being on the right side. Even if such Patients are not often diagnosed with abnormal heart rhythms, they sweat profusely, specially in presence of an investigating officer, which can be considered as a symptom of cardiac problems".
Rumors have it that this initiative was undertaken by the prison cell after Former Karnataka CM along with the other accused filed an Anticipatory Health plea along with the Anticipatory Bail plea. Senior advocate C U Scamaswamy, who is presently fighting from the CM's side, said to the media, "My client apprehends serious medical disorders if sent to any jail. He has past-history of cardiac abnormalities (while he was in school) and we fear that it may recur if he is sent to the prison". True to his claim the political stalwart is now shuttling between hoosgows and hospitals.
