Mumbai: An avid fan of Sachin Tendulkar today announced that he will go on indefinite fast till Sachin scores a Century. Taking inspiration from Anna Hazare who has been pressurizing the Govt into passing the Lokpal bill the fan , who identified himself as Santanu, said that his hunger strike would force Sachin into scoring a Century and it would be his greatest gift to humanity.

As Anna Hazare gets ready to start the Jail Bharo andolan and also gears up for another hunger strike, Santanu is hoping that his hunger strike will force Sachin to score his Century. ” Just like Anna Hazare is campaining for the LokPal bill I’am campaining for a greater issue, Sachin’s Century. The Lokpal bill effects only the people of India while this century will effect cricket lovers all over the world. Just like the govt which has been deferring the LokPal bill for almost nine years, Sachin has been wasting time and has not scored a century in 9 months. It is high time people expressed their anger at the century not being scored. My protest is no diferent from Anna’s. The govt has come up with versions of the Lokpal that will not be effective just to save their face, similarly Sachin has been scoring 70s and 90s just to save face and to fool the people into thinking he is serious about it. If he was so serious why does he give his wicket away in the end” argued Santanu, while hoping that others would join him creating pressure on Sachin to score the century in the Boxing Day Test Match which began today.

Meanwhile Santanu has already faced his first obstacle in his run up to the fast. MMRDA has refused to give him their ground at concessional rate for his fasting. ” This is bullshit. There is no denying that Sachin is GOD. My fast, if successful, will only increase his presence and stature thus making me a religious group. I will go to court” said a visibly angry Santanu.
