Mactard misses own father’s funeral to mourn Steve Jobs on Facebook
Delhi – Sushant Menon, 23, a die-hard Apple loyalist, refused to attend the funeral of his biological father yesterday as he was still mourning the demise of Apple ex-CEO Steve Jobs who was “Like a father to him”.
“Steve changed my life completely” said Sushant who had locked himself inside his Hauz Khas apartment, refusing to come out despite the fervent pleas of his friends and family. “Earlier I was just a boring old PC, no different from anyone else” he said, “But then I bought my first Mac and instantly became a unique artist, superior to everyone around me. What I am today, I am because of Steve”
When our reporter questioned Sushant about how his decision to not attend his father, Arvind Menon’s funeral, would hurt the rest of his family, he replied saying “Maybe so, but it’s like Steve said, ‘Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by Dogma…’” At this point, our reporter hastily left the room.
Sushant’s mother, Pratibha Menon was outraged by her son’s attitude. “Who is this Steve Jobs anyway?” she said “Sushant’s never even met him. How is this man more important than his own father??? Arvind taught him his first words, checked his homework , took him to cricket matches! What did this Jobs do? Make a phone?”
“I don’t expect my mother to understand” was Sushant’s calm response as he shared his 456th Steve Jobs quote on facebook. “She’s not an iPhone user. And if you don’t have an iPhone…. Well, you don’t have an iPhone”
Sushant will be joining grief counseling sessions later next week at AIIMS. We wish him all the best in piecing back together his sorry life.
