After coming to power, the Maharashtra Aghadi Sena has already made its intentions clear. After announcing 80% reservation for locals in private sector, Uddhav Thackeray today announced that there would be reservations for locals in bollywood as well. At the oath taking ceremony in Shivaji Park, Uddhav Thackeray unleashed a slew of populist measures including reservation for Marathi speaking youth in bollywood.
Though Uddhav did not elaborate on how the reservation would work out, he however did point out that in future 80% of the star kids launched by Karan Johar would be Marathi speaking. The move is in-line with his effort to get more representation for ‘son of the soil’ in private sector and bollywood.
Experts say that though the local industry is doing well, there is hardly any presence in bollywood. “Other than Riteish Deshmukh and maybe occasionally Shreyas Talpade, there is hardly any noticeable face. Our Govt is will ensure that this will not be the case with the next generation of actors. So we are in talks with Karan Johar so that his future projects have more locals,” revealed Saamna Editor Sanjay Raut.
Dharma productions has not officially given out any statement but a spokesperson for the company said that they wouldn’t want to be on the wrong side of the ruling party. Sources also said that Karan JOhar would comply and was in fact looking to launch Aditya Thackeray in SOTY4.
“The script is finalized and shooting will start in a few days. In fact Tiger Shroff, who was earlier chosen to play the lead, will now be replaced by Aditya,” revealed a Dharma source.
