Whitefield. Recently, Snapdeal, Wipro and HDFC Bank announced that they have laid off some of their employees either as a cost cutting strategy or on grounds of poor performance.

Joining the bandwagon, another IT company has announced that it will also lay off some of its employees, but that would be done at the end of FY 2018, citing lack of manpower to be laid-off as a reason.

Speaking to Faking News, Prasad, an HR from the company said, “Many companies have seen an increase in its media attention due to the lay-offs they undergoing in the name of restructuring. We also need some media coverage. For this, we have been spending on advertisements but the benefits arising from it don’t even match our costs.”

He continued, “We also have been awarding our employees by giving small and valuable gifts to them like a box of Ferrero Rocher or trip to Nandi Hills, but the Gujarat based businessmen are completely outpowering us.”

“To be in the trending list needs some negativity now a days and news of lay off will be enough for it. Hence, we have decided to recruit thousands of freshers who will be suitable for getting laid off during next year’s appraisal process.”

When asked that wouldn’t it cost much to the company, Prasad replied, “IT industry is well knowned for giving peanut size packages to the freshers. Rather, we should be rewarded for this act as it will be a Corporate Social Responsibility on our part to provide jobs despite the robotics and automation marking its way in the industry.”
