After backing CAB(Citizenship Amendment Bill) in the Lok Sabha, Shiv Sena seem to be now doing a rethink on their stand. Party Chief Uddhav Thackeray, while speaking to reporters, said that he didn’t read the entire bill previously but now will try and understand it before the Rajya Sabha vote.
“I didn’t read it end to end. Just like we read the ‘Terms and Conditions’ before installing an app or software. I mean who has patience to read it all. I think sometimes think Amit Shah has deliberate made it wordy so that we skip reading and end up blindly accepting it. But yesterday Soniaji cracked the whip ….I mean called me in the evening and we discussed the bill at length. Now everything is clear and we are treading cautiously,” he clarified while speaking to our reporter.
Some of Uddhav Thacekray’s sentiments were echoed by Sanjay Raut as well. While speaking in the Rajya Sabha Saamna Editor said that the bill was a blatant effort to divide people.
“Yeh logon ko juda karne ki koshish ho rahi hai. Lekin mai itna kehan chahoonga ki Juda hoke bhi tu mujhme kahin baaki hai. Our party always stood for the unity of Hindu and Muslim citizens. And we will oppose any effort to create rift between communities,” he said during the parliamentary debate.
