A Bengaluru based IT company has become the first in the country to introduce ‘Work from blanket’ for it’s employees. With the mercury dropping below 15 deg over the last few days, getting up early it the morning for work has been a herculean task for most employees.

The company, WPPT (We Pay Peanuts Technologies), introduced this facility for around 200 of its employees after it was found that most of them were either bunking or reporting late to work only because of their inability get out of the blanket on a chilly winter morning.

This is the same company that had on earlier occasion extended the facility of Work from Traffic after many of it’s employees couldn’t make it to office on time thanks to the traffic congestion in the city. The aforementioned facility earned WPPT an award for best employee friendly company.

Ghanshyam Dcosta, the diminutive bespectacled CEO of the company spoke to our reporter and said, “We are always at the forefront of creating an atmosphere where employees are squeezed to the maximum. These guys don’t get paid peanuts for bunking work. Earlier it used to be the traffic, now it’s the weather. But we too are constantly reinventing our policies.”

Though the company circular clearly mentions that those who don’t report to office have to necessarily Work from Blanket, some employees found a way to circumvent and pointed out that since they did not have a blanket, it was not possible for them to work.

Taking cognizance of the aforementioned concern, the company will now distribute blankets to all those who don’t possess one.
