Congress to approach Election Commission if Modi receives one more global recognition

16, Apr 2019 By Guest Patrakar

After being awarded Saudi’s highest civilian award by King Salman bin Abdulaziz at the Royal Court, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will now be bestowed with Russia’s highest civilian award, ‘Order of Saint Andrew the Apostle’.

All these awards are being handed out during election season and are very likely to influence India’s general elections.

Annoyed by the global recognition PM Modi is receiving during election time, Congress is approaching the Election Commission to ensure that they either delay or cancel these awards so that the elections are held in a fair manner.

In a press conference soon after PM Modi was conferred with Russia’s highest civilian award, Congress spokesman Randeep Surjewala said, “We will move to EC if Modi gets one more award from any country. He has now got 8 awards, 3 of those has come in the last 6 months. This is Modi’s plan of getting awards at this time so that he garners all the fame and votes in upcoming elections.”

BJP has hit back on this statement of Mr Surjewala and said, “If Modi is so powerful that he can influence superpowers like Russia to present him with awards during Indian elections then everyone should vote for him since he can influence global powers to do anything for India!”

Congress may move to EC on Monday, let’s see if they take any action against PM Narendra Modi. Stay tuned for more.
