On Monday, A special CBI court has sentenced Dera Sacha Sauda Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insan for 20 years in jail. Court also ordered all his followers to drop “insan” from their name. Court’s order was hailed by many and was called one of the most iconic decisions by the Indian judiciary.

Soon after Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was convicted for rape charges by a special CBI court, his followers started burning trains, buses and damaging public property. “Fortunately, followers had “insan” in their names else it would have been really difficult” said one of the judges of special CBI Court.

Judge HC Bansilal made a historic judgment, he said, “All the damages will be paid by selling off Dera Saccha sauda’s property”. He further ordered “Papa ji’s followers should immediately drop ‘Insan’ (Gurmeet’s self-made religion) from their names.

Faking News correspondent present outside the court, pretending to be Baba’s follower spoke to Justice HC Bansilal on his decision. Justice Bansilal said, “No sane person would be as threatening as baba’s followers. This has become common trend among criminals, first they commit a crime and then take a shield of humanity and social work. Being human one shouldn’t commit a crime as heinous as rape. Even animals don’t do sex without consent. If you can’t take consent then don’t add “insan” to you name.”

Adding or dropping an adjective in names isn’t a recent phenomenon for eg: Delhi is popularly known as Delhi bc and Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput dropped Rajput from his name after Karni sena slapped Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Shakespeare rightly said “what’s in a name!” We should be identified by our behavior. Adding “insan” in your name or wearing “being human” captioned t-shirts doesn’t make you one. You must get your actions right to be called a sane human being.
