Employee asks for midday to midnight shift to avoid traffic

19, Jul 2017 By RT

Mumbai. An employee working at MBP area in Navi Mumbai had asked for midday to midnight shift to avoid rough traffic conditions during the peak hours in the morning and in the evening, it is learnt by Faking News. Mr. Pawar travels from a location which is not far away from MBP. In an empty road conditions, it would take about 10 to 15 minutes to reach his office, based on the amount of rain water in the pot holes.

“The roads are packed in the morning, with vehicles coming in both directions. It takes two hours to reach the halfway mark. People stop the cars and read news papers, smoke a cigarette, play mobile games and also do several other strange things while stuck at traffic. Some things I noticed were, couple of guys playing chess using the bonnet of a car and a couple getting engaged right in the middle of the road, getting cheerful congratulations from regular commuters” Pawar told about funny things that happen in a day’s traffic.

“Yesterday, I saw an earthworm overtake a brand new BMW in the traffic. The funny thing was that the BMW was actually moving. Seeing a business opportunity here, a few walk-in mechanics move from vehicle to vehicle looking for things to get fixed and on an inflated rate. Oil change, Coolant change, Wheel alignments, 15 points check etc., are done on the move, while the cars are stationary in the road. Even a couple of used car sales took place on the other day” Pawar further added on the fast moving business activities in a stuck traffic.

“Midday, the traffic comes to normalcy before it gets crazy again in the evening. Again at midnight, the traffic becomes normal. So, I have asked for midday to midnight shift to avoid traffic and reach office on time, for work. A 2.00 p.m. to 11.00 p.m. shift would be very much suitable for this route. Though I will miss the fun on the road, I can avoid the rough traffic conditions” Pawar explained his reasoning behind asking for a new schedule at work.

“We are granting Mr. Pawar’s wish. Unofficially, many employees actually report for work around midday and leave at regular times. By introducing this new shift, we can make them stay till 11 p.m.” the HR manager of Pawar’s office told Faking News, on the condition of anonymity.
