New Delhi: A recent survey has shown that engineering college is still the most preferred destination of students who don’t know what they really want to do in life. After many engineering colleges closed down in some states during the last few years, there was some speculation that clueless teenagers are no longer interested in doing engineering while they figure out what to do with their lives. However, this survey has proved them wrong and shown that engineering retains its charm.
Speaking to Faking News, Sarvekshan Kumar, the lead researcher of the team that carried out the survey said ,”90% of engineering students end up in jobs that are in no way connected to their field of engineering, these are the students who take admission in engineering colleges and then over the period of 4 years, figure out what they want to do in life. 4 years period gives them enough time to discover themselves, figure out what they like, and then pursue that. There was some speculation that fewer students were taking this career path but our study has decisively proved them wrong.”
“There are still some students who can’t figure out their life goals during engineering, for them there is MBA. That gives them 2 more years to think things through and decide their next move”, Sarvekshan Kumar added.
When asked about the career choice of students who don’t want to do anything in life and want to stay in a college forever, he said ,”Well there is always the option of becoming a research scholar in JNU.”
