Hyderabad: According to a news report, colleges across Hyderabad are reporting cent percent attendance as ‘lucky’ ones would be picked to meet her personally during #GES2017 summit.
Students are attending each class as college authorities have not told, which day or which time the lucky draw would happen. Even during breaks, most of the students are hanging around library or checking the papers the peon carries from one building to other thinking they might be lucky draw coupons. As we can see, they are all excited, do not want to lose out on the opportunity.
Srinivas Gajulapalli, a student from Vardhaman college of engineering, has such a poor attendance record which would make Sachin and Rekha to feel good about themselves, spoke to us. He said, “I am a big fan of Ivanka Ji. I am following her from the time I have opened my twitter account.”
Though Srinivas and some other students we spoke with could not say for what GES stands for or what is the current role of Ivanka Ji, but most of them have done their ‘research’ on Ivanka Ji through google. They felt, unlike in the past, we are inviting good & exciting leaders like Ivanka Ji to our country.
“Look at the speech she delivered yesterday. Probably the first speech I watched nonstop for fifteen minutes on live TV. It was pure grace and high on content. The content I have forgotten, but her smile will remain with me forever. I would say, we have a lot to learn from her ‘style’. Hope I get an opportunity to meet her in person,” said Prakash G, a student leader.
However, students are upset for restricting Ivanka Ji to only GES summit. “She should have addressed a public gathering like our PM Modi does when he goes abroad. US does not have a diaspora to address here, but we students are big fan of her. We would have filled the stadium,” said Prakash.
