With a slowdown looking inevitable, there are growing concerns over job losses and unemployment across the country.

While most companies are heeding PMs call to refrain from laying off employees, Bollywood too has pitched in.

Earlier Rohit Shetty too had offered to help. The director offered to help the ailing automobile industry by promising to use SUVs other than Scorpio in his movies.

In a letter addressed to employees of Dharma Productions, Karan asked all casting diretors to look beyond star-kids for his future projects. “I am ready to change Dharma’s dharma to help those looking for jobs in these unprecedented times. From now on we will looks beyond Kapoor’s and Khan’s for our movies,” read his letter to employees.

For his gesture, Karan received widespread appreciation not  just from Bollywood but also from PM Modi.

Many were not convinced though. Sources say that cricketer Hardik Pandya laughed after hearing the news and called it a bit stretched given that he almost lost his place in the playing eleven after appearing on Coffee with Karan.
