Soon to be appointed BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has already got his task set. However, while reacting to rumors on cutting Ravi Shastri’s alcohol quota, he stated that there were won’t be any restrictions for now.

While responding to questions from assembled media-person, Ganguly said, “I haven’t even taken over the post and people are already talking about my equation with Ravi Shastri. Let me put this on record that what matters to me most is how the team plays on field. As long as the team delivers results, everything is fine.”

Ravi Shahstri has on several occasion shared images of himself enjoying a drink. The latest being from the Caribbean, which quickly became fodder for social media.

An image of him exiting the team bus with a beer bottle in one hand raised concerns of the coach’s priorities.

“I have known him(Shastri) for quite some time now. He is a spiritual person. I mean he enjoys his spirits and cares two hoots about what anybody says. In fact when the news of Sourav’s appointment made it’s ways to the media, Shastri was the first to congratulate him. Uss raat apun bohot piya, is what Shastri told me when he first heard about the new BCCI President,” a source close to the coach revealed.

There were also speculations that Sourav, being a result oriented person, would ask the players to focus on their net practice than time spent at tattoo parlour. But sources say that there were no plans to cut down the ‘Tattoo Allowance’ of Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul for now.

Ganguly however hinted that there could be restrictions on players being part of shows such as Koffee with Karan. A decision regarding this would be taken next week during a BCCI office bearer meeting.
