Person successfully clears day 1 of no smoking resolution by sleeping the whole day

Bengaluru: IT engineer Tapas Pal, working for an MNC in Bengaluru, has been making new year resolutions year after year without every successfully following up on them. However, this year he has made a bright start to his resolution to quit smoking by managing to avoid a cigarette for the first 24 hrs of the new year. Tapas managed to do it by sleeping through the 1st day of the new year as he recovered from his all night party on the 31st.

“It is a positive start and I am really proud of myself that I haven’t broken my new year resolution even after 24 hrs. I would like to thank my roommates for making sure that I didn’t stop drinking on the 31st night after my first spell of puking. I want to thank the cheap alcohol that we bought that gave me such a strong buzz that I passed out for a full day after drinking. I want to thank my alarm that wasn’t strong enough to wake me up”, said Tapas while holding back his tears of joy at the success of his new year resolution.

“I was expecting myself to break the resolution right after waking up on the 1st of January like I always do but I have surprised myself. I always thought that I won’t be able to go even a day without smoking but this has given me the confidence that no challenge is big enough in life if I can manage to sleep through it. Now that I have figured out that sleeping is the key to achieving your dreams in life, I may quit my tech job and take up the profession of motivational speaking”, Tapas added.

After that, Tapas left us and headed to the paan wala outside his office to celebrate his new career choice with a smoke.
