RCB hires Randeep Surjewala to defend Virat Kohli's captaincy

Bengaluru: After 6 straight losses, Royal Challengers Bangalore is as far away from playoffs, as Vijay Mallya is from an Indian jail. RCB have struggled only in batting, bowling, fielding, team selection, and captaincy so far, while the rest of their tactics have been spot on.

Now with the mounting losses, there has been a lot of pressure on the captain Virat Kohli and the management has decided to back their captain and defend him openly.

Virat Kohli’s captaincy has been criticized a lot during this losing run with his bowling changes and team selection particularly coming under the scanner. Now to defend Kohli’s captaincy, RCB has roped in Conrgess spokesperson Randeep Surjewala, a master of defending the indefensible. Surjewala, who has managed to defend Rahul Gandhi’s leadership for the past decade despite one electoral loss after another was seen as the perfect guy to defend Kohli’s actions.

Speaking to Faking News, a source from the team management said, “This string of losses has taken a heavy toll on Virat and he is starting to doubt his own abilities. This will hurt not only RCB but also the Indian team during the World Cup. Therefore, we needed someone to step in and boost his morale and Randeep Surjewala seems like the perfect candidate. He can come in and praise Kohli’s leadership to the skies, giving him the confidence he needs right now.”

“Further, he can sacrifice himself in front of the press defending every captaincy decision that has backfired during the IPL. With him taking all the heat and defending every action, Virat Kohli will be free to concentrate on the launches of new apps”, our source added.

When asked if Mr. Surjewala will be free to take on this responsibility during the election season, our source said, “I am sure he will be able to accommodate this assignment with the elections. He just has to change Rahul Gandhi to Virat Kohli and say the same thing again.”

Meanwhile, BCCI has appointed special fitness coaches for MS Dhoni to make sure he remains fit enough to play international cricket as long as Virat Kohli is the captain.
