Along with data about Lunar surface, Chandrayaan-2 is expected to bring back the Scorpio which had reached the moon while shooting for Rohit Shetty’s Singham. This announcement was made by ISRO today in a press conference.
The ISRO Chief was responding to questioned posed by the press about the mission where he mentioned that one of the mission objective was to bring back the Scorpio.
As per ISRO data, the car which left the earth 8 years back is currently orbiting the moon. Though it’s presence is not likely to cause any problems, but given the large amount of debris in space there was going concern over the SUV orbiting in space. “As of now we have data of just one SUV but given his penchant for launching vehicles in space, we believe there could be more,” said a scientist.
Sources say that ISRO staff is expected to meet the Bollywood director to get an exact number of Scorpios to analyze if Chandrayan-2 can bring them all back or if Chandrayaan-3 mission would be required.
There were some concerns over weather playing spoilsport but after MET dept predicting doomsday weather scenario, ISRO was sure that the skies would be clear.
Our reporter met with actor Ajay Devgn, who played the eponymous character in screen, to know more about how he felt about the latest space mission. “It is a proud moment for the country and I am happy that my movie has some connection to the Lunar mission. I would however ask the brilliant people at ISRO to not expedite the process of getting the SUV back as the next installment of Singham is currently being shot and a few more Scorpios could end up in space,” revealed the actor.
