With Uddhav Thackeray hinting that he is not too keen on taking over the CM post, the Sena has once again found itself hunting for the ideal candidate to lead the state.
Though the party wants a Sena man to take control, no one from the party seems to be interested. And that has prompted the part leaders to look at alternative ways.
Sources say that Uddhav and Sanjay Raut are planning to have an Indian Idol like reality show called Maharashtra Idol to narrow down on CM hopeful. “Yes it is true. Since everyone is still clueless and there needs to be an end to the suspense. So the party has decided to have this contest and select someone who can sit on the CM’s chair. The winner will rule the state for 5 years. We have support of the Congress and NCP as well,” said a Sena leader.
The selection of participants is already in progress. Around 100 Shiv Sainiks were seen lined outside Matoshree, ready to showcase their talent. A sena volunteer that our reporter spoke to said, “We requested talented sainiks to show up for the contest and look at the overwhelming response. Some of them have previously participated in Roadies and KBC. So it is going to be a tough contest.”
Along with Sanjay Raut and Uddhav Thackeray, NCP Chief Sharad Pawar will be a judge on the show. The result of the contest will be out next week.
When asked for his reaction on the news of Shiv Sena Idol, Home Minister AMit Shah guffawed and said, “Kuch nahi nikal ne wala. Indian Idol, KBC, BiggBoss jo karna hai karo. Maharashtra ka Chief Minister BJP ka hi hoga.”
