News Anchors association demands Modi's birthday to be celebrated as Father's Day

17, Sep 2019 By Santosh Pradhan

New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who turns 69 today, visited the Statue of Unity on Narmada river in his home state Gujarat this morning and shared a video of the statue, billed as the tallest in the world. His birthday is getting amazing coverage across major news channels.

Almost all channels have their next 24 hours totally occupied with stories of the Prime Minister. Sudhir Chaudhary along with the anchors association has demanded the government to name Modi’s birthday as Father’s day in India. Sudhir feels that Father’s Day which is usually celebrated in the third week of June should have a meaning or else there is no use of the celebrations. Other anchors like Arnab, Rohit, Shweta, and Rahul have welcomed this suggestion and are willing to put all efforts to rename the day to Father’s Day.

Ravish Kumar has taken strong objection to the demand and said that someone’s birthday should not be such an important day in other’s lives. But no one is listening to him. Arnab has in fact called panelists to debate on the topic ‘ Is 17th September the greatest day in history?’. Sambit Patra has prepared a 2-hour long speech for the debate as he will be the only one to speak on the topic.

Other panelists are practicing the art of staying quiet for the duration of the show. Our team tried to reach Sudhir to get his reaction, but he refused to comment and said that he will only speak once his demands are met.
