Parallel search operation held to find reporter who went to find missing Honeypreet

After being on the run for over a month, Dera Sacha Sauda chief and rapist Ram Rahim’s alleged daughter Honeypreet appeared in front of the media on Tuesday. After a month-long, massive search operation launched by media houses, state forces and private investigative agencies could not help locate her, her sudden appearance has given a sigh of relief to all those who personally took it to themselves to find her.

However, a recent report has disclosed that many reporters who went to find missing Honeypreet have now gone missing. A joint search operation was launched by media houses and police forces to locate Vivek, a reporter working for a TV channel that claims to have the highest TRPs, after he did not return home despite Honeypreet’s return.

“I got a phone call from a media house that their reporter, Vivek, is missing. When we asked the name of the TV channel, they did not directly tell us the name. Instead, the complainant told me that theirs was the number one news channel in India with the highest TRPs,” said the constable who registered an anonymous FIR after receiving the complaint.

Top police officials swung into action to find out the name of the TV channel. “We watched all the news channels but every news channel claimed that they are the number one news channel in India, which made it very difficult for us to know the organisation Vivek works for. We had to transfer the case to CBI just to know the name of the news channel,” said a high-ranked police official at Mumbai Police Headquarters.

Investigative agencies are now questioning Honeypreet about all her hideouts, where Vivek can possibly be found. Locals are being questioned on whether they have seen Vivek but there is no sign of Vivek as of even now, a month after his disappearance.
