Akhilesh Yadav allows restaurant waiters to eat food from ordered dish

Lucknow. In a move bringing cheers to thousands of waiters working in restaurants in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has proposed a new rule that will allow waiters to eat a part of the dish ordered by the customers.

“How can waiters serve people if they are hungry themselves?” the young Yadav said. This decision follows an earlier proposal that allowed state MLAs to use up to rupees 20 lakhs from the local area development fund to buy cars for themselves.

Yadav rejected criticism that it was wrong to empower a waiter eating out a chunk from the taxpayers’ customers’ pockets.

“There is nothing wrong. Waiters were getting tips from customers anyway, which was coming from their pockets. This is equivalent to making tips compulsory and official, which is a step towards social justice,” Akhilesh justified his decision.

Pet bhar ke khaao yaar, apna hi maal samjho!” Chief Minister gave a clear message to the waiters waiting to take a bite off the platter of the common man.

Many experts too believe that the decision was not bizarre and followed the same spirit that was shown in allowing MLAs to use local area development funds.

“MLAs were anyway using a part of that fund for their personal benefits. With buying a car being legally allowed, it just becomes obligatory and official,” an expert claimed.

However, some waiters are not too sure if they can eat this much in a day. They have requested the Chief Minister to find an alternate arrangement.

“Akhilesh Ji should think about those MLAs, who already have cars; won’t they be disappointed not to be able to use 20 lakhs rupees because they already have cars? Same is the case with us,” explained waiter Raju (name changed on request), who has been eating part of ordered dishes for years now.
