Lucknow: While the people of UP are groaning under the heat because of the frenetic power-cuts, Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav have different thoughts about it.
Today, in the afternoon, Akhilesh Yadav confronted the press over the rising “load shedding” issue and claimed that the power-cuts are made only for the welfare of the people of the state. He stated further that SP is not discriminating against BJP-won areas and the protests held by the BJP are just attention-seeking gimmicks.
“I have no idea what this fuss is all about when people of UP are actually enjoying the power-cuts. These people, specially Varanasi residents, who come on TV and state that their lives have become hell due to the power crisis are actually BJP workers who are trying to spread a negative vibe in the state against the ruling Samajwadi Party,” Akhilesh Yadav claimed.
He (Akhilesh Yadav) then went on to describe how the power-cuts are good for people and is helping people live their lives in a better way.
“Look, all the kids are happy as they now have an excellent and effective excuse to avoid the burdensome homework they get from their schools. On the other hand, parents are also appreciating the power-cuts as their kids now spend most of their time talking with the elders or playing outside instead of gluing themselves to the TV or to the computer screens. You know the consequences of kids gluing themselves to their computer screens for long periods. Don’t you? All we want is a healthier future for the nation,” Akhilesh told Faking News.
“Another plus point is that now people can dry their clothes off by hanging them on the electric cables and the street dogs can pee on the electric poles without any fear of getting an electric shock. Even the stats are in our favor, you know, in last 2 years not a single crow has died due to an electric shock in UP. So, this step of ours is not just beneficial for the common people but also for the poor animals,” the CM further added.
“We are spreading love actually. People of UP have no choice but to have a candle-light dinner every night. I actually want to ask the protesters that do people of Gujarat have the privilege of having the romantic candle-light dinner with their families every night? Other than that, statistic shows that almost over a 100 people die in Gujarat due to electric shocks in a year. Who are we to play with people’s lives?” Akhilesh asked attacking the recently elected PM.
“The kids in UP are no more afraid of the dark, they’re used to of it. We’re building a better and a brave India,” he added.
On the other hand, another senior SP leader Azam Khan said, “It was Christians’ God who said that let there be light not ours. Why are we being forced to follow somebody else’s God or his sermons?”
Meanwhile, we also tried to talk to SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav. We’ll publish his remarks as soon as we figure out what actually he said in his statement.
