Arun Jaitley to quit Defence ministry after his task of teaching GST and Demonetization to defence officials comes to end

01, Sep 2017 By Santosh Pradhan

The possibly last major cabinet reshuffle before the 2019 national election is expected before Prime Minister Narendra Modi leaves on Sunday for a BRICS summit in China. Mr Jaitley took on the extra job after Manohar Parrikar shifted to Goa as Chief Minister earlier this year. Sources say he is likely to shed one of the two ministries he heads and most likely it is the Defence ministry. The reason for this is the fact that he has imparted all possible knowledge regarding GST and Demonetization to Defence officials, the task which was allocated to him.

Arun Jaitley had been chairing lot of meetings for Defence officials to make them understand the importance of GST and Demonetization. When BJP asked him to fill in the boots of Manohar Parrikar, the major task given was to spread awareness about the new Financial terms in the Defence circles. The Defence officials are always busy making strategy to protect the nation from foreign invasions and hardly get time to understand their finances. This is where Jaitley played a major role in imparting the much needed knowledge. In fact he didn’t give too much of time to a serious issue in Doklam as he thought that army will easily deal with the Chinese counterparts, but lack of knowledge about GST and demonetization can be very dangerous in the future.

Faking News reporter spoke to a defence ministry official named Harneet Ahuja and he had this to say,” We thank Arunji from the bottom of our hearts. All out lives we have dedicated our energies to protect the nation and thought very less about our own well being. Arunji took the mantle to free us from financial ignorance and start giving Finance a major role in our day to day lives. We will surely miss him.”
