New Delhi: Newly appointed Rajya Sabha member Navjot Singh Sidhu resigned from Rajya Sabha today shocking everyone. While there are rumours that he did it to join Aam Aadmi Party, the former Cricketer revealed that it has nothing to do with that.

Sidhu’s sad face after resigning

Sidhu, who along with his responsibilities as MP, is also an IPL commentator and the official laughter soundtrack of ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ revealed that he just couldn’t 2 comedy shows at the same time. He has also dropped hints that he is ready to return to the Parliament once Kapil Sharma’s show wraps up.

“Oye Guru, I laugh so much during the shooting of Kapil Sharma show and then I laugh again at the same jokes while watching the show on TV. That is pretty much my capacity to laugh. If I laugh any more, I will pull some muscles in my stomach. Therefore, I couldn’t handle the unintentional comedy one experiences inside Rajya Sabha. I had to choose one or the other, since the pay is better on Kapil’s show, I decided to resign from Rajya Sabha”, Mr. Sidhu said.

“It is not the end of my relationship with the Rajya Sabha, I would really like to return. Maybe when Kapil’s show wraps up or maybe when we start searching for another channel for the show, during that time I would like to come here to get my daily dose of laughs. Only difference is that Kapil does loud, intentional comedy while Rajya Sabha gives us subtle, unintentional funny moment”, Mr. Sidhu added.

When we asked Mr. Sidhu whether he is going to join AAP, her replied,” Jeene ke liye tera ek armaan hi kafi hai, Dil ki kalam se likhi yeh dastan hi kafi hai, Rajya Sabha ki mujhe kya zaroorat hai dosto, Hansne ke liye Kapil Sharma hi kaafi hai.”

When we asked him again about his plans to join AAP, he replied, “Mat pooch wo sawaal jiska jawab na ho, Wo phool hi kya jo Gulaab na ho. Wo joota hi kya jisme juraab na ho aur wo bar hi kya jisme sharaab na ho.

After trying to understand for a few minutes, we thought its better to leave from there.
