Rahul Gandhi trying to understand jokes around Rahul Dravid’s retirement

New Delhi. According to Congress party sources, Rahul Gandhi has still not understood why people are cracking jokes like “The wrong Rahul has decided to retire” on the day cricketer Rahul Dravid decided to retire from all forms of the game. The Congress general secretary, still with a grown beard, has asked party workers to explain the meaning of all the jokes, which has put the poor workers in a dilemma.

“How can we tell Rahul Baba that people are making jokes on him!?” said Dinesh Singh, a party worker from Amethi, who had earlier claimed to Rahul Gandhi that Congress was well set to win at least 180 seats in Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.

Party sources suggest that Rahul Gandhi was exposed to such jokes when he decided to log into his secret Twitter account, which was created by Kapil Sibal a few months ago.

“What do they mean by ‘wrong Rahul’? Are they referring to me?” asked Rahul Gandhi, which sent shivers down the spine of Congress workers, who slowly started moving out of the room by making fake excuses.

“Nobody wanted to tell the bitter truth to him,” Dinesh told Faking News.

Unconfirmed sources say that Congress workers tried their best to find a news website that could have used pictures of Rahul Gandhi cheering the Indian cricket team along with the report of Rahul Dravid’s retirement, but they failed to find any.

“Such a picture could have cheered up Rahul Baba and made him forget about the jokes, but not even NDTV used such a picture!” a party source said, revealing the strategy that workers adopt when confronted with unsettling questions from someone from the Nehru-Gandhi family.

With tension growing and afraid of telling Rahul Gandhi the truth, Congress workers are reported to have summoned Digvijay Singh to give the whole issue a spin.

“They mean Rahul Sharma – the new leg spinner who is not retiring even though everyone in India wants him to,” Digvijay Singh is reported to have explained to Rahul Gandhi about the joke.

At the time of filing of this report, Rahul Gandhi was still unconvinced, though without options.
