Mumbai. Disappointed with Dhoni and Team’s performance in the tri-series in Australia, BCCI has made a bizarre announcement that Leander Paes would be replacing Shikhar Dhawan.

Leander Paes
One of the few Indians who perform so well on foreign grounds.

The announcement came one hour after Indian tennis star Leander Paes clinched his 15th Grand Slam title as he and Swiss ace Martina Hingis won the Australian Open mixed doubles title on Sunday.

Briefing reporters in Mumbai, a BCCI spokesperson said, “Our boys are a bit out of form, Shikar Dhawan is not at all doing good, Leander has done quite well in Australia, his inclusion in the world cup squad will motivate other players.”

While, many experts called it a bizarre stepsome, including former Indian Cricketer Sunil Gavaskar have backed the decision.

“I am impressed with his footwork,” said Gavaskar.

Both Leander Paes and MS Dhoni initially refused to comment anything on the report.

However on prodding further, Dhoni accepted it was part of his experiment which he is doing in ODI side.

“Paes surely cant be any worse than Dhawan,” said Dhoni signing off.
