With number of cases on the rise, the medical fraternity has called for reducign human to human contact to stem the spread of the virus. Responding the call, the US Govt has asked all citizens to greet each other with the new ‘palms meeting’ gesture.

Speaking to Faking News, a senior official from the Health Department said, “the new ‘palm meeting gesture’ is an effort to get people to ditch the hug and handshake. Our department has been working tirelessly on this and today we have discovered this new way of greeting people. This will reduce the spread of the virus. And also help us in controlling it.”

Fliers are being distributed and people are being urged to follow the new way of greeting. However many called it a copy of the Namaste, and even termed the Govt well intentioned call a case of cultural appropriation .

PM Modi wasn’t too happy with the ‘palms meeting’ gesture. Sources say that PM had a call with Trump and asked for Namaste to be given due credit. PM Modi even threatened that if that did not happen then there wont be any crowd the next time trump visits India.

It is not yet known if trump would agree to it, but the prospect of not having crowd for his rally could push the President to agree to PMs demand.
