Congress to buy Cartoon Network to promote Chacha Nehru’s love for kids

14, Nov 2012 By Pagal Patrakar

New Delhi. With the case of National Herald being almost forgotten, Congress is now planning another acquisition to promote the ideas of Jawaharlal Nehru. On the eve of Children’s Day, the party announced that they were planning to buy Cartoon Network.

“Of course, it will be a section-25 not-for-profit company that will run the TV channel for children,” confirmed Abhishek Manu Singhvi, who is back as Congress spokesman after featuring in a video clip that was watched mostly by adults.

Sources say that Digvijay Singh has asked Rahul Gandhi not to show any series like Chhota Bheem as they could be misused by parties like BJP and BSP

“We will produce video clips that will be watched by little kids,” Singhvi told Faking News.

The party justified its decision using the same kinds of arguments that they came up with in the case of National Herald newspaper, for those arguments appear to have worked and satisfied the media.

The same ownership structure will be followed where 76% of the shares will be held by Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, and the party will lend interest-free loan for running the channel.

“If you think we are doing something wrong, sue us,” challenged Singhvi, who is also a lawyer.

Party sources confirm that Rahul Gandhi is pretty excited over the prospects and is willing to take a bigger role as Editor-In-Chief of Cartoon Network.

“Rahul ji will handpick cartoon shows that will be aired during the day, while other leaders will handpick teleshopping ads that will be shown during the night – mostly the Gujarat Congress TV ad featuring television actress Tulika to being with,” a party source revealed.
